Partnering with Celebrate Church on a Fantastic Pre-Screen Movie Event

I’m asking all of you to mark your calendars for Wednesday Night, October 11th. Gloria Dei is partnering with Celebrate Church on a Pre-Screen Event for the upcoming movie, Ordinary Angels.”

It will be an exciting night that you don’t want to miss. We will have some of the characters from the movie here at Gloria Dei, along with Mayor Ten Haken, the Director of the movie, and others. After we hear presentations from the mayor and others, we’ll head to Dawley Farms to watch this inspiring movie.

Ordinary Angels centers on a fierce but struggling hairdresser (Sharon, played by actress Hilary Swank) who discovers a renewed sense of purpose by helping a family in need.  It truly is an inspiring story about faith, church, everyday miracles, and ordinary angels like us, doing the very work of Christ.

Tickets will be available on September 17. We will provide more details as we get closer, but the entire theater will be rented out for Celebrate and Gloria Dei, a combined 1650 seats.

Again, more details to come, but please make every effort to be part of this. And INVITE YOUR FRIENDS. Some unchurched people may not want to accept an invitation to a church service, but an invitation to a movie is another story. And this movie will provide a natural way to talk about your faith with your family, your kids, and your friends.

Pastor Sarah and Lara Kvale will provide updates to Children, Confirmation students, and High School Youth about any changes to the normal schedule that night. But again, mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 11.

One more thing. Next weekend, September 9 and 10 is our Kick-Off weekend. Displays and tables will be set up to provide a snapshot of the various ministries available at Gloria Dei. Worship Plus One is a theme you’ll hear this year. We are encouraging you to be in worship each week, but also putting your faith into action through at least one more activity or service opportunity through the church.

Hear more about “Worship Plus One” below.

For this weekend’s worship, please read Matthew 16:13-28.
