Holy Week & Easter
At Gloria Dei, we think everyone should hear the Good News of Easter!
Join us on Easter weekend for one of four services; there is room for you here!
Holy Week worship follows the final days of the life of Jesus. Join us in worship as we retell the story and hear again the good news of what Christ has done for you!
Sat, March 23, 5pm & Sun, March 24, 9:00am & 10:30am
Holy Week begins with Jesus’ entry into the city of Jerusalem. The cheers and shouts of Hosanna rang throughout the city as the people greeted their king. In the background of this celebration a more foreboding feeling filled those who knew this triumphant entry would lead to trouble for Jesus and his disciples.

Thur, March 28, 6:00pm & 7:30pm
Jesus shares a final meal with his disciples just before his arrest and trial. Before they sit to eat, he kneels down like a servant to wash the feet of his disciples. This simple act of service (a king who becomes a servant) presents a powerful new reality in God’s kingdom. At the dinner table, we learn that the disciples are both friends and betrayers. This odd mix of company reveals our own hearts as we gather at the table for Holy Communion.
Fri, March 29, 6:00pm
Here we are at the cross. This powerful scene unfolds as God’s only Son is crucified. The crucifixion is not some age-old tale, but is the heart of God revealed most clearly. On the cross, Jesus died for our sin. Not only did his body hang lifeless on that tree, so did our sin, our death, and the power of evil in this world. He took it all with him to the grave. As they buried him in the tomb, the sin of the world was buried there, as well. Holy Week closes in darkness as we wait in holy vigil for the coming of dawn.
Sat, March 30 6:30pm – Sun, March 31 at 6:00am

Easter opens with jubilant, triumphant praise for God who broke into our world to reveal to us abundant and eternal life! The bright morning of Easter, the empty tomb, and the shouts of Alleluia ring throughout time and space as we celebrate the power of God to overcome all darkness, sin, death, and evil! Alleluia! Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed! Alleluia!
