Hello Gloria Dei,
As our capital campaign winds down, I’d like to give you an update and say thank you to the entire congregation.
To date, we have received pledges to the campaign totaling $2,827,539. Even though we did not reach our stretch goal, this amount, together with future pledges, will allow Gloria Dei to move into the future in very good financial standing, primed to go even deeper in faith and wider in outreach.
As you may know, when Gloria Dei relocated to our current site back in 2011, the cost of the project was $16 million. Through the years, in addition to supporting the ongoing mission and ministry within the General Fund, the mortgage debt has continually been reduced. I’m pleased to say that with the results of this current campaign, Gloria Dei will soon be debt free. With some of the pledged amount already given, we’ve been able to speed up our payments on the mortgage. We currently have a debt totaling $1,036,695. As our pledges come in over the next three years, we will pay off the debt, build up a maintenance fund, and be ready for possible future expansion.
So, to all of you, on behalf of our Church Council, our Capital Campaign leadership team, and the whole congregation, THANK YOU for your tremendous support of this Christ-centered ministry.
I’d like to also say a big word of thanks to our Campaign Team. These individuals have put in lots of volunteer hours to help make the campaign a success. Team members are as follows: Adam Walsh, Gina Glasoe, Alexis Mahlen, Bradyn Neises, Yvonne Oppold, Gary Dybsetter, Stacie Kray, Steve Schultz, and Duane Cramer.
In addition, lots of others (too many to name) have volunteered as hosts, visitors, spiritual life team, presenters, and much more. Thank you to all.
Gloria Dei is filled with people who are generous with their time, their talents, and their finances. Through all of you, this is a blessed community of faith, as the light of Jesus Christ shines brightly and countless numbers of lives are changed by the love of Jesus.
Of course, gifts to the campaign are always welcome and appreciated.
I am grateful to serve as Sr. Pastor at Gloria Dei. See you in worship (for this weekend please read Acts 16:16-34).
Pastor Tim
