Thank You from Pastor Heidi Binstock

Hello Gloria Dei,

As we move into Memorial Day weekend, please take time to thank God for the men and women who have given their lives for this country and the many freedoms we enjoy. Jesus said that there is no greater love than a person giving their life for the sake of others.

As we give thanks this Memorial Day, we also thank Jesus for giving his life on our behalf. He, too, died so that we could be free. Free from the power of sin. Free from even the power of our final enemy, death itself.

This week I’d like to include a thank-you message that came from Pastor Heidi Binstock. As you know, Pastor Heidi has now begun her ministry with the people of Southwood Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. Here is Pastor Heidi’s note.

Dear Gloria Dei,

Thank you for calling me as one of your pastors and now sending me. I feel sent! I am grateful for my time at Gloria Dei, your partnership in the Gospel, and the work we have done together. Thank you for the many kind words that you have shared with me along the way, but especially these last few weeks. And the gift card! And the prayers! So many things. Thank you for all of it. God bless you and keep you… Your Promise in Christ!

In peace,

Pastor Heidi Binstock

We keep Pastor Heidi, her husband Greg, and their two children, Peter and Clara in our prayers as they make this transition in ministry and in life.

For this weekend in worship, please read John 14:23-29. Have a blessed Memorial Day weekend.

See you in worship,

Pastor Tim
