I’ve always loved school. In fact, if it wasn’t for the need to start paying back my student loans, I probably would have kept going beyond my master’s degree. Maybe I’ll get that doctorate someday…
As students all across the Sioux Falls area head back to school, the staff at Gloria Dei are praying for a wonderful year ahead. We’re praying for students, parents, teachers, administrators, and volunteers, and the many people who have a hand in educating.
In addition to education in our schools, we pray for the education that happens here at church, as well. If you didn’t know, Gloria Dei has a great preschool program. Children between the ages of 3 and 5 come every weekday for a faith-based, preschool education. We have wonderful teachers, aids, and custodial staff who do some amazing work. We’re praying for all of them as they begin their year, as well.
As I think about all these kids learning in our schools and in our preschool here at church, I can’t help but be inspired to a lifelong love of learning. Church is a great place to learn, too. Our church school and confirmation programs are designed for learning, of course. But so are our adult bible studies, support groups, adult forums, music programs, and even worship. We take Christian education pretty seriously around here. There are lots of ways to learn about the faith. We’d love to encourage you to “jump in” to something new this fall. Keep an eye on our Signups and Happenings page as new offerings and returning offerings begin.
Education is so important. And there’s a lot you can learn, even at church. We hope you can join us in an educational offering sometime soon.
Let’s GO Gloria Dei!
Pastor Chris
