Hello Gloria Dei,
Over the past weeks the Gloria Dei congregation has celebrated Easter, a 40th Anniversary, and then a graduation milestone along with Mother’s Day. It is good to celebrate the goodness of God together.
Another value Gloria Dei celebrates in an ongoing fashion is service and outreach in Jesus’ name. In that vein, I’d like to ask you to consider volunteering your time for a special event coming up on June 20th and 21st.
Gloria Dei is partnering with Austad’s golf in hosting a Feed My Starving Children Event. We will be spending parts of that Friday and Saturday packing dry-food meal packets which will literally be sent around the world to feed children and families in need. Our goal is to pack 100 thousand meal packets during our two-day event.
I’m including a link which includes further details and an opportunity for you to sign up for whatever amount of time you can give. We are in need of 500 volunteers, so again, please consider this wonderful opportunity to put faith into action by serving and loving others in Jesus’ name. This weekend in worship we’ll be reading John 13:31-35. Jesus gives us the command to love one another just as he has loved us.
You’ll be hearing more about this Feed My Starving Children Event in the coming weeks, but it is not too early to sign up as you are able. Thank you for being such a Christ-centered congregation.
