“For God So Loved the World that He Gave His only Son” – Jesus to Nicodemus

I’m excited to tell you that beginning this weekend, we will launch into a Five-Week Preaching Series called “Holy Encounters with Jesus”. Each week we’ll look at a different biblical character with whom our Lord shares God’s love. We will utilize scenes from Season One of the popular series “The Chosen.” This week we begin with Jesus and his conversation with Nicodemus. In preparation for worship, please read John 3:1-21.

I also want to let you know that the Augustana Hockey Faith Night is happening on Friday, January 30. Gloria Dei has a block of 40 tickets. You’ll need to purchase tickets through Augustana University, but here is the link to access the Gloria Dei block.

We are going to have a fun time together while we cheer on the Augie Hockey Team. These tickets went fast last year, so if you’re interested, please purchase soon. If you need help, don’t hesitate to call the church office.

In addition, just a reminder that the Gloria Dei Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, January 25, at 11:45 a.m. in the sanctuary. Please plan to attend.

One final note, and it is a note of thanks. You may not know this, but Gloria Dei has what we call a “Good Samaritan Fund”. This fund is used periodically at the discretion of the pastors for people in need. We make use of this fund when needs arise, especially in emergency situations, usually for members but sometimes for non-members too. Through your generosity to the General Fund, this ministry is made possible. Thank you for your ongoing support.

It is a privilege to serve as one of your pastors. You are a blessing to me and to many.

See you in worship,

Pastor Tim
