Hello Gloria Dei,
This past Wednesday within worship we began once again to welcome new members into this family of faith called Gloria Dei (Glory of God). We will continue at each of our three weekend services coming up. In all, we’ll be welcoming just over 100 new members. Praise God.
As we continue to offer two new member opportunities each year, it is very common to hear from our new members that someone at Gloria Dei either told them about the church or invited them to come to one of the many available ministry offerings.
Today I simply want to say thank you. Thank you for being such a welcoming and inviting congregation. Thank you for the ways in which you volunteer your time. Thank you for your support in so many ways. God desires all people to be in relationship with him, through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. As you welcome and invite others, God uses you to make that happen. And ultimately, it gives glory to God.
This weekend you will receive a postcard-sized notice of our Easter worship schedule. I invite you to take one or two (or more) and use them not only for yourself, but also to give them to friends or family members as a way of invitation to Gloria Dei. By doing so, you will be inviting them into the very presence of Christ, as Jesus promises to be with us as we gather in his name.
Thanks again for being so welcoming and inviting. And be sure to give a warm welcome to our new members this weekend.
For this weekend, please read Luke 13:1-9.
To God be the Glory,
Pastor Tim
