Hello Gloria Dei,
Welcome to April. As a baseball fan, I’m glad to see that Major League Baseball is off to a good start. As a celebration of the new season my wife gave me a book entitled: Baseball as a Road to God. It is quite interesting, especially for a pastor and baseball fan. Thanks Honey!
As a golf fan, April brings with it maybe the most famous tournament of all: The Masters. I’ll be watching during the second week of this month.
But of course, the biggest and best news of all takes place this month too. Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! It’s the Easter news of New Life. Holy Week begins next weekend with Palm Sunday.
As we prepare for Holy Week worship at Gloria Dei, we are in need of some more volunteers to help within our many worship services. Please read the following note from Pastor Chris:
“From Palm Sunday to Maundy Thursday to Good Friday to Easter, Christians around the world are drawn into the final events of Jesus’ life. Each service offers an opportunity to again tell the greatest story ever told: Jesus Christ died and rose for you!
Gloria Dei tells the story in our worship services, as well. And with all the extra and important services happening, we must reach beyond our regular April serving group to provide hospitality to the thousands who will walk through our doors to worship the Savior with us. We’re looking for ushers, greeters, communion servers, and lectors/readers. Volunteers are needed on Thursday, April 17th, Friday, April 18th, Saturday, April 19th, and Sunday, April 20th. Sign up here!
One powerful Gloria Dei prayer practice is to hold vigil from Easter Saturday to Easter Sunday. Following our Easter worship service on Saturday, April 19th all the way until just before our Easter sunrise worship service on Sunday, April 20th, you are invited to sign up for a 30-minute time slot to come to our sanctuary for prayer. You may come alone or bring a family member or friend to pray with you. To get more information or to sign up for this powerful time of prayer, sign up here!
Let’s GO Gloria Dei! Pastor Chris”
Thanks everyone. And for this weekend in worship, please read John 12:1-8. God is good, all the time.
See you in worship,
Pastor Tim
