A Few Announcements

Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Praise God!

Hello Gloria Dei,

I pray you all had a wonderful Easter celebration. At Gloria Dei, from Palm Sunday all the way to the Easter Festival Celebration, over 5,000 people came through the doors to hear God’s word and to be impacted by Christ and the events of Holy Week. Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Praise God!

Today, a few announcements:

First of all, if you haven’t heard, Lakyn Muilenburg has resigned her position as Director of Middle School Ministries. Lakyn has served Gloria Dei well for almost three years now. We are grateful to Lakyn for the way in which she has made a difference for our youth and adults. On Sunday, April 30, we will recognize Lakyn in worship and formally say thanks. In between services you will have an opportunity to greet and say thanks to Lakyn in person. Lakyn’s last day in the office will be Friday, May 5. We wish Lakyn all the best as she moves to the next chapter in her life.

Secondly, beginning this Sunday morning, April 16, Pastor Chris will be teaching a class called “What is a Lutheran?”. The course will run for four consecutive weeks. Each session will begin at 11:45 a.m. and will go for about an hour. Classes will be held in the Office Commons area. You are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Thirdly, there is still time to get tickets for the Side-by-Side Concert featuring the All-City Honors Orchestra and the Augustana University Orchestra, held at Gloria Dei this coming Sunday, April 16, at 3:30 p.m. Doors open at 3 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online here.

And finally, in our New Testament Reading, this week we begin Paul’s letter to the Romans. In preparation for worship, please read chapters one through six.

Happy Easter season and I’ll see you in worship.

Pastor Tim
