As followers of Jesus the Bible tells us that we are called to move from spiritual infancy to spiritual maturity. This movement of growth happens throughout our lives. We can’t outgrow our Christian faith.
At Gloria Dei there are many opportunities to grow in faith. These come in various ways: Learning, Serving, Giving, Fellowship, Worshiping.
Today I want to highlight a few of our adult learning opportunities.
Men’s Retreat, September 22 to 24. This is open to all men of the congregation, ages 18 and older. We will gather at Inspiration Hills Retreat Center in Inwood, Iowa (south of Canton). Registration and details are available on our website under “Sign Ups and Happenings”. We will enjoy both learning and fellowship with other men from Gloria Dei. Please get your name on the list, as I expect this to fill up quickly.
Another year-round learning opportunity for men is our Wednesday morning Men’s Bible Study. This group meets each Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. in Room 123. Come in through the West Entrance of the church. All men are welcome and encouraged to attend. The study wraps up by about 7:45 a.m.
This fall we will begin again with many other Bible Study opportunities. Watch for exact September start dates for the following groups.
- Women’s Bible and/or Book Study: Wednesdays at 10 a.m. (resumes this fall)
- Gather Women’s Bible Study: Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. (year-round)
- Adult Bible Study: 1st and 3rd Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. (resumes this fall)
These are just a few of the opportunities to continue to learn and grow in faith at Gloria Dei. Continue to watch our announcements and website for the many ways in which you can learn, worship, serve, and enjoy Christian fellowship.
