Happy New Year

I hope and pray you all had a good Christmas celebration. As they say, “Jesus is the reason for the season.” In him we have life, abundant and everlasting. I want to say thank you to all who helped to make our Christmas Eve worship services so meaningful for all. Musicians, singers, ushers, volunteers, and you, the people of God, singing praise to God through familiar carols and experiencing the light of Christ by candlelight. Almost 3000 people gathered over the weekend to celebrate Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us. Thank you!

As we close out 2023 and begin a new year, we at Gloria Dei will be reading and preaching through the gospel of Mark from now until Easter. Mark 1:1 says: “The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.” What a great way to begin a new year, hearing Good News proclaimed to us. Please read Mark chapter one in preparation for worship this weekend.

One Important Reminder: This weekend we have our normal Saturday worship at 5 p.m.

However, on Sunday, December 31, there will be only one in-person worship service at 10:30 a.m., and it will also be live-streamed at www.gloriadeisf.org/live.

I pray that in this new year, 2024, you will know the peace that passes all understanding and that God’s love fills your heart and your mind. In so doing, God’s love can’t help but spill over into your love of others. Thank you for being a blessing to me, and I know I speak for the entire staff at Gloria Dei: Thank you!

Happy New Year!

Pastor Tim
