Hello Gloria Dei,
We are exploring the possibility of a capital campaign to fund added space to our current church facility. Gloria Dei continues to grow in ministry and in numbers. We are situated in a growing part of our city. With this in mind, as was shared at the Annual Meeting in January, the Church Council is excited about walking through a Readiness Study together with you.
I encourage and invite all of you to participate in this Readiness Study by attending one of our Focus Group Meetings over the next six weeks. Rooted in Christ’s Great Commandment to love one another and in his Great Commission to spread the good news far and wide, the purpose of these meetings is to give everyone in our congregation an opportunity to hear the proposed expansion vision for Gloria Dei. This is an excellent opportunity for each member to provide the Church Council with your thoughts concerning this vision.
Focus group meetings will be held immediately following all Saturday 5pm, Sunday 9am, and 10:30am services between May 11th and June 23rd.
Location: Gloria Dei Chapel on the East end of the campus.
Please check your schedules and mark your calendar for one of these very important meetings. Again, it is best if everyone from the congregation attends one of the Focus Groups. Each presentation will last approximately 40 minutes. You will then have an opportunity to ask questions and to answer a brief, but important questionnaire before the meeting is concluded. It is helpful for us to know numbers; please sign up here.
Gloria Dei is important to all of us, and your suggestions are needed as we vision for the faith-filled future God has in store for this vibrant and Christ-centered congregation.
This weekend in worship we continue our series called “A New Look at Some Old Stories”. We will focus on the Old Testament character of Joseph. Joseph had quite a life, filled with ups and downs, but always with a strong faith in God. You can read the entire account of his life in Genesis, chapters 37 – 50.
See you in worship,
Pastor Tim
PS There was an email sent out subject line SHARING THE VISION this past week. I’ve heard from some of you who happen to share an email with your spouse or another family member, that the email was addressed to only one of you. Please know that the email letter is meant for everyone. Our Church Management System, for some reason, chooses one or the other on any shared email. This was not meant to leave anyone out.
