Near the beginning of 1 Corinthians, the apostle Paul writes to them, saying, “I give thanks to God always for you because of the grace that has been given you in Christ Jesus.”
Paul is thankful for his friends within the church. Paul is thankful for relationships. Paul is thankful for the grace given to all of us in Christ Jesus.
As we approach our National Day of Thanksgiving, it is a good reminder to stop and simply give thanks. Think of all the gifts God has given you, particularly the gift of people: family, friends, church family, relationships. I’ve always known it, but as I get older, the more I realize that the best gift is the gift of loving relationships.
The bible tells us that as we abide in the love of God, it becomes our home. Wherever this Thanksgiving takes you, traveling or staying home, God is with you. His love is with you. His love is your home. You are, each and every day, in relationship with the God who loves you.
And just a reminder, this Wednesday night at 6 p.m. we will gather in the sanctuary for a special Thanksgiving worship. Following worship, you are invited to stay and have some pie and dessert with your church family. If you’d like to bring a pie or dessert to share, please let us know by completing the form on Sign Ups & Happenings.
And in honor of Thanksgiving, the church office will be closed on Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24 next week.
Enjoy the love of God and the love of friends and family. God is good….All the time.
Grateful to be in ministry together with you,
Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!
