Thank You!

“As we move further into 2023 let’s stay “Fully Engaged” as our theme for this school year says. “Fully Engaged” in our faith and service of others.”

Hello Gloria Dei,

This past Sunday we gathered after worship for the Gloria Dei Annual Meeting. It was a time in which our Council President, Sara Dannen, along with the pastors, shared reports of some of the ministry highlights throughout 2022. Furthermore, in preparation for this year, the congregation approved our Financial Plan for 2023.

The written report for 2022 can be found on our website. I encourage you to read through it to see all that happens in and through this congregation.

Yet, as you are around Gloria Dei, you can see and feel the energy and vibrancy of everything from worship to living out our faith in discipleship in many and various ways.

The ministry belongs to God, first and foremost. But it also belongs to you. You are the church. Through you, God’s Holy Spirit works to create and strengthen faith, that is then translated into love for others.

As I said at the Annual Meeting, it truly is an honor and privilege to serve together with you as your Senior Pastor. I am grateful for my four pastoral colleagues who also serve in this place and for our tremendous staff. Please keep all in your prayers. Yet most of all I am thankful for all of you, the congregation at Gloria Dei.

As we move further into 2023 let’s stay “Fully Engaged” as our theme for this school year says. “Fully Engaged” in our faith and service of others.

If there are ways in which you’d like to get involved; everything from greeting at the doors before worship, to serving communion or reading the Scripture for the day or singing in the choir or playing handbells; or reaching out beyond these walls through the many fine organizations with which we are involved; or helping in our Church School or Youth Ministry, or anything else, please call the office or talk with one of us, or sign up through the website or church bulletin, and we’ll be sure to get you connected. And don’t forget to invite your friends and/or family members to join you in worship and mission through this community of faith.

Thank you for taking your faith life seriously and joyfully, as together we strive to love God and love others in the name of Christ. I’m looking forward to the faith-filled future that God has in store for all of us at Gloria Dei.

I also want to remind you that Holly Brunick, our Business and Facilities Manager, has announced her retirement. She will be retiring on June 1. We have posted a job description on our website and are now beginning a search for possible candidates. If you or someone you know may be interested, please use our online application to upload a cover letter and resume.

For this weekend’s worship, please read the book of James.

See you in worship,

Pastor Tim
