Hello Gloria Dei,
Genesis 1:25 says this: “God made the wild animals of the earth of every kind, and the cattle of every kind, and everything that creeps upon the ground of every kind. And God saw that it was good.”
Yes, God made the animals and declared them all good. And so, just a reminder, that this Sunday our 10:30 Worship Service will include our Annual Pet Blessing. We will be outside on the lawn. Please bring your own chair if you can. And the forecast is for hot weather, so bring your water and sunscreen too. We will have buckets of water set out for the pets. We anticipate this service lasting about 30 minutes. The SDSU Ice Cream Truck will be available from 10 a.m. until Noon.
We’ve never had a giraffe before, so I’m kind of hoping for one this year.
The Saturday 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. services will both be as usual in the sanctuary.
I also want to remind all of you that Gloria Dei is once again hosting a Feed My Starving Children MobilePackTM event on Friday and Saturday, July 17 and 18. Our goal is to pack over 100 thousand meals which will feed the many of the most vulnerable children and adults around the globe. To register, you can use this link.
Or you can go to the Gloria Dei website and find “Sign Ups and Happenings” under the Church Life tab. Invite your friends and family to join you.
One more thing: Please keep the 58 youth and adults who are spending the coming week in Nashville on the Youth Mission Trip. They will be serving and learning together, all the while reflecting God’s love to those they encounter.
See you in worship,
Pastor Tim
