What can God do through two days of willing hands and open hearts? This July, Gloria Dei again has the opportunity to help pack more than 100,000 meals through our Feed My Starving Children MobilePackTM event—and to build on last year’s impact by working together to beat our previous meal count. It is a powerful reminder that when we come together in faith, even a few hours of service can help change lives far beyond our own community.
On July 17 and 18, Gloria Dei will host this joyful, high-impact event, and we need our church and community to help make it happen. Over the course of those two days, we are seeking 506 volunteers to fill packing shifts and help turn hunger into hope for children who urgently need nutritious meals. It is an ambitious goal, but it is also an exciting one. Every shift is filled with energy, teamwork, and purpose as volunteers work side by side to make a tangible difference in the world.
In addition to volunteers, we are also working toward a fundraising goal of $10,000 in donations made directly to Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) to help cover the cost of ingredients, supplies, and shipping. FMSC relies on donor support to make each meal possible, and every gift makes a real difference. Any additional funds raised beyond this year’s goal will help support future years of this event, allowing Gloria Dei to continue this life-giving mission in the years ahead.
This is a wonderful opportunity for families, too. Children ages 5 and older are welcome to serve alongside adults, making this a meaningful way to teach compassion, generosity, and faith in action. We also encourage community groups, workplace teams, friend groups, and other organizations to sign up together and make an impact as a team. One of the most remarkable things about a MobilePackTM event is how much fun it is. The room is alive with movement, laughter, encouragement, and shared purpose. By the end of a shift, there is a deep sense of joy in knowing that your time, your hands, and your heart helped provide hope for children around the world. It is the kind of experience that stays with you long after the event is over.
Please help us spread the word, invite others to join you, and prayerfully consider how you can be part of this important effort. Whether you come as a family, with friends, with your workplace, or on your own, you will be part of something bigger than yourself. Together, we can reach our goal of packing more than 100,000 meals, work to surpass last year’s meal count, and share Christ’s love in a practical and life-giving way.
